John Harvey, DVM
Veterinarian
Dr. Harvey was born in Metairie, Louisiana. He received his degree from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 1998. Dr. Harvey began his veterinary career in the U.S. Army, serving as Chief Veterinarian at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama. He then joined a small animal hospital in 2001, serving as Associate Veterinarian, in Lake Mary, Florida.
Dr. Harvey and his wife, Christine, excitedly discovered the beautiful Flower Mound after a long search. In addition to the practice, Flower Mound is exactly the community that the Harveys were seeking to put down strong family roots for years to come. Dr. Harvey and Christine have three children. There have been many pet family members through the years; including, beloved Rogue and Smokey, the couple’s college cats; sweet Casey Dog, a black and tan coonhound adopted from Redstone in Alabama; and many rescue animals that completed the family.
Currently, the family is blessed with lots of unconditional love from O’hana, a sweet and beautiful mixed breed dog from Coppell Humane Society, and Daphne, an amazing Pyrenees dog and true companion to O’hana and the Harvey family, from SPIN (Saving Pyrs in Need).
When not taking care of our furry friends at Lantana Animal Hospital, Dr. Harvey enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, hiking, reading, and college football (Go Gators!). Dr. Harvey is also active in the community in the following ways:
- On the Board of Directors, Flower Mound Animal Control
